$30 prepaid plan: Basic phone plan
The $30 per month basic phone plan by Verizon allows for unlimited talk and text within the US. This prepaid plan is perfect for anyone wanting to stay in touch with their loved ones without needing any smartphone features.
$40 prepaid plan: 3 GB data
Anyone with a smartphone will need at least a little high-speed data, and the $40 per month Verizon Wireless prepaid plan is a great place to start. The plan offers 3 GB of high-speed data, which allows for plenty of video watching and social media scrolling. Should you have used up the 3 GB before the month is over then the speed is automatically lowered to about 128 kbps. Not only does this plan include data, it also includes unlimited talk and text in the US and unlimited texts to more than 200 countries! Additionally, mobile hotspot data and carryover data are supported.
$50 prepaid plan: 7 GB data
For $50 per month, the amount of available high-speed data is increased to 7 GB. The features such as the unlimited calling and texting within the US as well as the unlimited texts to more than 200 countries are included. Should you find that 7 GB data is a little too much at times, don’t worry, as carryover data is available! If you insist on finishing your high-speed data each month, make sure to check out the mobile hotspot option to power your other devices with internet.
$60 prepaid plan: 10 GB data
The $60 per month Verizon prepaid plan increases the amount of monthly high-speed data to 10 GB. Unlimited calling and texting within the US is once again included, as well as the texting to more than 200 countries. As expected this plan also supports mobile hotspot data as well as carryover data. The bonus here is that the $60 per month plan includes unlimited talk to both Mexico and Canada.
$80 prepaid plan: unlimited data
The $80 per month plan is perfect for those that always want to remain connected. This Verizon Wireless prepaid plan offers unlimited data along with the unlimited text and talk in the US and unlimited texts to over 200 countries. Additionally, you have access to unlimited talk to Mexico and Canada! The only downside to this plan is the fact that it does not support the mobile hotspot features.
About Verizon Wireless Prepaid Plans
Verizon prepaid plans are not often promoted, but that does not mean that the plans are not competitive. The plans have become more competitive as the company recently revamped their family prepaid plans. The family plans offer discounts based on the number of lines that are signed up under one account. The discounts range from $10 per month per line up to $20 per month per line, and are most definitely worth signing up for. When considering this it’s important to keep in mind that not all unlocked prepaid phones can work on Verizon’s CDMA network. The data allows for DVD-quality streaming (up to 480p) on smartphones. If the network is congested, actual data speed could be temporarily slower.
1. Once high speed data allowance is used, Always-On Data allows you to continue using data speeds limited to 128 kbps at no additional charge for the rest of the month. Your data experience may be impacted and functionality of some data applications may be impacted like streaming video or audio unless you purchase additional add on data.2. Unlimited Text to anyone on any network from the U.S. to Mexico, Canada and Puerto Rico.
3. Only available on $45 Smartphone plans and $30 basic phone plan.
4. The Verizon mobile hotspot is only available on capable devices.

Checking your Verizon balance

The reduced speed has no impact to calling and texting. However, the reduced speed will show in all data-related actions such as app usage and video & music streaming.
